Marie Antoinette Wedding: Woodsy and Whimsical

Reblogged from What Would Marie Antoinette Do?:

Dear hearts, it’s a good, good thing that I was not obsessed with our dear queen when I was planning my wedding because there seems to be an endless amount of Marie Antoinette Themed Wedding inspiration and Lord knows, I’d never have gotten off the internet to stop searching for pretty picture. I bring to you a new wedding, this one for the more naturally inspired gal who loves her plank tables as much as her gowns and china. Well, I can’t post everything or else you won’t have a reason to click over to …

Time for a little more of my Inspiration Session with Justine Lynn, owner of Beauty Justified, April Mason, owner of Mocha Rose Floral Designs and of course April Gildea, our fabulous model. So the first round of photos from this session showed a unique and more casual spin on wedding style. I wanted to really bust away from the traditional white wedding gown but keep some of the basics like a flower piece for the hair and a bouquet. However, for this segment of the session it was all about tradition while …

Nothing says ‘modern organic’ better than succulents as wedding decor. Used either in lieu of or in combination with flowers, they can be grown before the wedding and replanted after. A sweet idea would be to grow them at the Bride and Groom’s childhood homes, and replant them at their new home as husband and wife. Here are a few unexpected ways to use succulents in your wedding: photo by Mary Swenson via Project Wedding photo via The Knot photo by Aaron Delesie via Green Wedding Shoes photo by Stephanie …

My Valentine’s Day-induced love of pink has officially been taken over by a crush on all things cherry red. The prettiest red always make me think of New England weddings, which always leave me breathless with their clean lines, sentimental details, and striking venues. The brides all seem so classy and chic, and grooms in navy and red will never go out of style. For this week’s inspiration board, I decided to pull together a bunch of details that would make up my perfect New England wedding (you know, …

I’ve always had a little obsession for flag cake toppers. Make the flags super tiny with an “adorable factor” and I’m sold. So it’s no wonder I fell so in love with these crafty cuties by Sam Dubeau. Sam’s design page is full of crafting inspiration including these stamped exclaim cards & these celebrate cards (oh yes! streamers & confetti bananza!). Simple supplies, with uber creative results. photo cred: {scarlet o’neill via sam dubeau}

It’s been ages since I did a round-up of inspiration images or products on Something Pretty, partially because they’re a bit too time consuming to do regularly while I’m in school, and partially because I still write them twice a week for my fabulous internship (you can check out my posts on the Occasions website every Friday)! Regardless, this detail is one that I’m loving way too much to not dedicate a whole post to. :) I have practically a closet full of stripes, but nothing quite as bold as the thick …
